Visma E-conomic

Last updated: June 8, 2026

🚨 Prerequisites

  • You must have an active e-conomic account with accounting data.

  • You must have access to an e-conomic developer agreement with an app set up (to retrieve your App Secret Token and Installation URL).

  • You must be an administrator on the e-conomic accounting agreement you want to connect (or have sufficient permissions to grant app access).

🔑 How the Connection Works

Connecting e-conomic to Chift requires two tokens from your e-conomic account:

  • App Secret Token (identifying your app)

  • Agreement Grant Token (granting Chift access to your accounting data).

No password are shared with Chift.

Connection

Step 1 — Get your App Secret Token:

Log in to your e-conomic developer agreement → go to the Apps tab → select your app → copy the App Secret Token. Store it safely — it will not be shown again (you can reset it at any time if needed). https://www.e-conomic.com/developer/connect

Step 2 — Get your Agreement Grant Token:

In the Tokens section of your app, find the Installation URL and open it in your browser while logged in to your accounting agreement (not your developer agreement). Follow the steps to generate your Agreement Grant Token.

If you manage multiple agreements, click "Administer" on the target accounting agreement before opening the Installation URL.

Step 3 — Connect in Chift:

In the Chift platform, fill in:

  • A name for your connection

  • Your App Secret Token

  • Your Agreement Grant Token

Then click Connect. Your e-conomic account is now connected.

Troubleshooting

Issue

What to do

"Access denied" or connection fails

Make sure you are logged in to the correct e-conomic agreement (the one with accounting data, not the developer agreement).

You manage multiple agreements

Click "Administer" on the target agreement before following the grant link. More info here.

Connection worked but no data appears

Ensure your e-conomic user role has the SuperUser permission. Other roles (Bookkeeping, Sales) have limited API access.

You want to revoke Chift's access

Log in to your e-conomic account → Apps → find Chift and remove the grant.
