For that , log into your Exact Online account.
Go to the Financial tab → Analysis & Results.
In the example below, two axes are enabled: Cost Centres and Cost Units.

Step 2: Define the analytical/cost axis to activate.

Step 3: Click "Authorise" to finalise the connexion

You will be redirected to an Exact Online page to authenticate your account
Important: Exact Online refresh tokens expire after 30 days of inactivity. If no requests are made to Exact Online within a month, the token will expire and cannot be refreshed, resulting in a 401 authentication error with the message “The refresh token expired.” You will need to re‑authenticate your connection if this occurs.

CONFIGURATION
Step 1: Select the company, folder, division you like to configure.

ATTENTION: it is possible that you don't find the company/division you want to connect in the dropdown menu. If this is the case, you need to adapt the allowed companies/divisions through the Exact Online interface:
1) Open Exact Online "Import/Export" Settings

2) Select "App permissions"

3) Select the app you are trying to connect to Exact Online

4) Go to the "Permitted companies" section. Here you can allow all current and future companies OR select "Manage companies" to only allow specific companies

Step 2: Click "Submit" to finalise the configuration.

VAT on general journals
If you want Chift to push VAT entries into a general journal (type General journal), you must make sure VAT is allowed on that journal in Exact Online. Otherwise, the VAT lines will be rejected when the entry is pushed.
To check this, go to Master data → Journals, open the relevant general journal, and on the General tab make sure the VAT checkbox is ticked.

ATTENTION: this only concerns journals of type General journal. If the VAT box is left unchecked, any entry containing VAT sent to this journal will fail.
